Anthony D Bates Partnership LLP (ADBP) has continued their long term relationship with the Port of Workington by managing their 2012 maintenance dredging contract. ADBP provides the following services to the port:
Contract preparation;Obtaining licenses and consents;Identifying suitable contractors;Inviting & Analysing tenders;Supervision of contracts;Measurement of works;Monitoring of impacts and effects;Post contract analysis and report;Data returns to Regulators.

After an extensive tendering process the work was awarded to Rohde Nielsen, who were undertaking work in the Irish Sea at Warrenpoint Harbour. The work involves the removal of approximately 110,000m³ of dredge material from the Port's navigation channel and turning circle.

The trailing suction hopper dredger the 'Thor R' will arrive onsite upon completion of works at Warrenpoint Harbour. It will be assisted by the plough dredger the 'Llanddwyn Island' for the duration of the works. The dredging campaign is expected to take about 12days to complete, but will depend largely on weather conditions onsite. ADBP are also undertaking the pre and post dredge surveys for the work for measurement purposes.
